Music Theory/Songwriting • Re: (guitar) are EADGBE and DGCFAD different tunings?

I would just say "Down a Tone".

Having previously seen Drop-D, I once read somewhere that Stepdown was the name or D-Standard or just D-tuned. I've been called names for calling it Stepdown but I'm 80 and I don't give a FLYING PUCK (!) about what anyone else calls it; it's a full step down and since EADGBE is the (ONLY) standard I will not call it any 'standard' either. Push comes to shove I might be more verbose and say Dee-Gee-See-FAD. It's easier on fingers, on strings and on the neck, easier to bend, I will not use any other tuning (which I would but only If I were young and ended up learning all the different tunings).
