IIRC Windows has some sort of File compression Algorithm (going back to the early days) that, when enabled, can report more "availble" space than physical space, Also, if this computer is as new as it seems to be, the manufacturer may have a hidden partition that contains the recovery data. I'd suggest performing a full backup, ensuring that you have created any windows recovery disks that are suggested and then, using Gparted to delete all partitions visible to it, re-format and re-load and see what you get. OR, install another disk purely for Linux and use UEFI to change boot devices as, and when needed.
