Running non-linux software • Re: Arturia Midi Driver - has anybody got it working in WINE? (subject amended)

The KeyLab mk3 works fine on Linux, but there are a couple of annoying problems, and I fear the culprit is the artificial requirement to have the MIDI driver installed on a Linux system (which isn't required for the MIDI communication between the PC and the controller, since the KeyLab mk3 is USB compliant.

The problems, in short:

  • Analog Lab doesn’t remember the value “MIDI controller: KeyLab mk3” and it needs to be set up manually every time when opening the app. Not a dealbreaker but annoying.
  • The KeyLab mk3 display doesn’t show the preset being used, even if all the controls work as expected. This is disappointing because you need to browse through presets via computer display and mouse.

I have posted more details on Arturia's forum, hoping the the developers will read them, and perhaps fix/improve the piece of code that is getting in the way.
