@Tippe
My preferred Audio-MIDI-Sequenzer is Qtractor and I'm using mostly .sf2 sound files via CALF Fluidsynth.
This is caused by my preferred musical style to compose: Symphonic and Orchestral Music.
I have lots of .sf2 files containing waves from real orchestral instruments.Since I have almost 2 days of Symphonic Music composed and there's already many templates that I use to start up Qtractor, there will be a need to have CALF Fluidsynth running fine in that new OS.
You should have no issues with Qtractor on current AV Linux or UbuntuStudio versions. I'm not positive about the state of any of the Calf plugins, though it is installed on my AV Linux box: I use Ardour and its bundled a-fluidsynth
plugin for sf2 files.
