The thing is that the gtk2 runtime will vanish from the distributions. So, debian 12 is not the problem but 13 will be.
And it is already incompatible with the internal gtk2 runtime of ardour.
The recent maintenance work did not tackle this fundamental problem at all (and most probably won't).
