System Tuning and Configuration • Re: Moving toward "headless" virtual organ system

Things are looking up again. I compromised and paid $40 for a Crucial NVME drive that the manufacturer guaranteed would work. I noticed the Debian install seems to have automatically detected the UEFI requirement, and it certainly detected the new disk when I needed to choose an installation target and has now booted several times successfully with no hiccups.

Since they didn't have a new "2800" type NVME under 500gb when just 32gb had proven adequate, I'm trying it with a generous swap space even though there isn't that much RAM currently. Maybe I can keep the other drive for another, even cheaper, dedicated organ computer ... looks like as of right now, 7020s and similar can be had for under $40 shipped.

Now that I've got everything arranged similarly to my previous test and can practice easily on the new computer, I'll soon be trying ways to run my script on startup. Also wondering somewhat whether a "mini" form factor style cooler would be a good option for fitting this system into an even smaller package, but that's a worry for another time.
