i don't know if this is still true. but jsfx could be used outside reaper. at least with "reajs" vst plug-in. sadly that is not available as vst3/clap yet. not in any shape for linux. available in reaper only in that case.
Yes indeed. I have had good success using YSFX to run Reaper and other JSFX plugins in Ardour.
That's what I use also but the thing is it still takes up resources after a while. If you have the host which already will take up resource and then you load it full of plugins that's now a hungry plug-in. Carla that's the problem of always had with it. The thing is with this host say on one track I only want to use say an EQ plugin then on the next track I want to use say a compressor on some kind of chorus effect and delay, is every instant of that host linked so for instance if I loaded the one track that has the delay and all that in it and the other one that just had the EQ now will the EQ now be loaded with the delay and everything else? I usually just look at my CPU load or the DSP load I noticed just by putting a host in there I watched the percentage go up and then I load a plugin and then I watch it move up and especially when you're using something like Harrison's mixbus, you watch that DSP red light come on often. I may be using it wrong so if I am somebody please point it out because I'm here to learn how to use these things better and I'd be a fool if I did not ask how to do something.
