I'm from the Netherlands. I'm a bass guitar player mainly and I have a recording setup with an audio interface on my PC. I just decided to ditch windows for good a few weeks ago and my choice of distro is Linux Mint. So far so good. I got my 3 audio devices working and connected through Pipewire with pw-jack. I can also play the games I like without issue so I don't have a reason to go back to windows anymore.
I had been playing around with linux since about the year 2k so I am not a newbie in that regard but it is the first time that I'm not dual booting anymore and Linux actually seems to be ready to replace windows as a desktop environment for whatever use I have for it.
My choice for Mint is based on the fact that it's really easy to install, not bloated, and acts like windows a lot with the Cinnamon desktop. I don't see why that would be a bad idea. It works for me. Also installing the NVidia drivers was a breeze compared to the disaster that used to be in the past with manual install and configuration.
Anyways, happy music making everyone!
