My name is Mathias. This is my first post.
I will need to *** set up Linux Mint (Cinnamon LTS) for non-professional music production ***.
I am lost in the amount of information one can find on line.
I plan to do 2/3 audio and 1/3 MIDI tracks (e.g. with gizmodrums virtual drums), probably with Ardour mainly and a sequencer/editor like Rosegarden.
Do you have some recommendation about which tutorial or piece of advice is best for a newbie like me in order to prepare the distro fro music production ? I mainly looking for already available tutos and posts.
For instance I do not know if using a low latency kernel is really necessary, and which repo I should use and how.
I am also totally clueless about pipewire versus Jack (I used to have a basic grasp about handling Jack). I guess with DAW this should be unimportant but if I use different MIDI editors maybe there are things I should do beforehand.
I have only a basic understanding of Linux although I use Fedora at work.
