About to buy a keyboard for soundtrack production. I am a Linux Mint user for a long time now and before that Ububntu. I dumped Windohs in 1998 so that makes me a 27 year Linux user. It's been a journey. I am not naturally 'techie', I am an historian, author, art producer and very much the error between keyboard and screen. However, after having decided to use digital video to capture my research with indigenous people in Queensland, I became 'sucked' into areas of computer use I would never have dreamt of. Kdenlive, Audacity, OBS Studio, Gimp and Scribus are my main package uses.
Over the years I have made videos, short films and podcasts. I have cobbled together some soundtracks. I have never used a midi keyboard but, as you can see, when I get into something I just sit at the coalface and work it out. I have yet to buy the keyboard and the one I am looking at is: M-Audio 61 Key USB MIDI. My preliminary research tells me this is a good choice.
Why? I try never to waste energy in life and so if I am doing something then there is always a bloody good reason for it. My wife is a sculptor and we are currently working on the launch of her next sculpture series. I want to create a soundtrack for it. Now is the moment to buy a keyboard and get stuck in. I have come here (Linux Forums are just the dog's bollocks as far as I am concerned) [note: I am an East London cockney from the UK] to research what I need to do and how I need to do it.
So that is me. Next step towards eternity!
