I've tried using xcfe as my desktop environment, but I've been having similar issues in regards to drop down menus as I did on my older laptop that ran i3wm. X11 ain't perfect either, apparently (who'd have guessed); this time I'm running into issues with reaper running natively on Linux, too. The drop down menus are, this time, behaving erratically and can't consistently be clicked on, as opposed to my issues with Sway currently where the drop down menus on wine plugins refuse to work 100% of the time.
I'm going to try KDE now, both wayland and X, as a lot of people seem to have good success with that.
