Ah, it's good to know that there are experts around and still some people that use the format.
I must have bought these about 15 years and never actually used them until now 
But it was the perfect sound for what I had in mind. Fortunately I've managed to install Linuxsampler from the KXStudio repositories and everything works with the minimum of fuss.
