Experiment 2: aseqdump
The below snippet shows me hitting two notes. The first is the left rack tom, which has zero duration. The second is the right rack tom, duration 0.0.002. Interesting that aseqdump does show a note off event! Also interesting that there seems to be no difference between one with a duration and one without. (I don't know what "9" refers to but maybe you do.)
Code:
130:0 Note on 9, note 43, velocity 74130:0 Note off 9, note 43, velocity 64130:0 Clock130:0 Clock130:0 Clock130:0 Clock130:0 Clock130:0 Clock130:0 Clock130:0 Note on 9, note 44, velocity 80130:0 Note off 9, note 44, velocity 64
so... it is sending note-offs after all, just that they are immediately after the note-on, thus the zero or near-zero duration in qtractor recording...
sorry to tell, the new version gets it just like the older one, as the changes made would only cope with missing note-offs, which is not the case.anyway, thanks for your patience--the song remains the same, though.
all the best.
So I think this is "fixable" with a MIDI plugin that delays note off events. Unfortunately I didn't find one so I am afraid this has to be coded, for example in mididings.
